Parents' Handbook 2019 – 2020 3 please direct your inquiry to Beth Rosell, Secretary to the Board of Directors, at brosell@tfs.ca. TFS FOUNDATION The role of the TFS Foundation is to promote philanthropy within the TFS community. As a registered charity, the Foundation receives all charitable donations in support of fundraising priorities across all branches and programs including entrance scholarships, bursaries, awards, among other initiatives. The Foundation is also responsible for the investment and stewardship of all gifts. President: Cathy Yanosik 416-484-6980, ext. 4296 cyanosik@tfs.ca Chair: Christian Lassonde (until October 2019) The Foundation team is responsible for leading the outreach to engage families, friends and alumni of TFS to provide financial resources to advance the mission of the school, while also strengthening school pride and connections with the community through volunteer activities and event participation. This outreach includes leading the school's fundraising program encompassing annual giving, major and special gifts, donor recognition and stewardship, and special events. We work collaboratively with parents and our Alumni Association to engage our community, helping to nurture a culture of philanthropy and volunteering, which is critical to the school's well-being. While tuition fees are directed toward basic operating costs, as an independent school and a not-for-profit charitable organization, we rely on the financial support of our community to ensure we remain at the forefront of educational excellence. It is the difference between a great experience and an extraordinary one. Our supporters provide us with the means to deliver an education that is unique and outstanding. The dedication of our families, staff and volunteers enables us to reach higher and provide the programs, spaces and resources we need to nurture and prepare our students to lead in and contribute to a complex world. No matter the size of the gift, with your commitment, our students can push further, discover more and be ready to drive their future.
