MEET SANDRA SULLIVAN KEELEY Sandra vividly recalls aending her first Kermesse at TFS in 2006, having just enrolled her two children, Annie and Parker, in SK and PK. "We had been impressed by the school's international values, but when we saw the table laid out with an array of foods from all over the world, we knew immediately that we had made the right choice. We belonged at TFS." Keen to meet other parents and to become meaningfully involved with her children's school, Sandra decided to volunteer with the TFS Parents' Association. Her first role as class representative for the Parents' Association led to other opportunities to contribute, including everything from being Junior School pizza coordinator to chairing Kermesse. Over the next 11 years, Sandra's volunteer work would positively impact so many aspects of our students' experience at TFS. From co-chairing the 50th Anniversary Gala to serving on the Soaring Beyond Campaign Cabinet, Sandra Sullivan Keeley is today a valued member of the TFS Board of Directors, serving on the Nominating and Governance Committee. She was also one of the leading forces behind establishing the revitalized TFS Foundation. "It's gratifying to know you are forwarding initiatives that will benefit current and future generations of children," she shares. Sandra derives a deep personal satisfaction from seeing campaigns and events succeed and from knowing that she is supporting the school, but she is also grateful for the friendships she has forged along the way. "I've met so many wonderful people over the years and they've become some of my very best friends." Her family has also been regular annual donors since joining TFS. They made a leadership gift to support the Learning Forum during the Soaring Beyond campaign and, most recently, a lead gift to the Class of 2019 Fund in honour of Annie's graduation. Annie is currently on a gap year, doing international development work in Sri Lanka, while Parker, a competitive climber, is in Level IV. Volunteering at TFS inspired in Sandra a passion for fundraising, which ultimately led to a career in the not-for- profit sector. Now the Director of Strategic Events for one of Canada's largest not-for- profits, Sandra oversees 140 events a year. "And to think it all began with food," she muses. "Who would have thought that a table of food celebrating world cultures would have taken me on such a journey?" 12 TFS
