Parents' Handbook 2017 – 2018
Dear Parents,
I would like to extend a very warm welcome to our families for the new school year.
This handbook has been reorganized to make it more relevant and useful to everyone
concerned. It opens with our vision, mission, values and motto, as these are the rocks on
which our school is built and they guide all of our decisions and actions. In addition to
general information for parents, you will find sections on the TFS Community, on Teaching and
Learning, and on Community Engagement and Student Life.
I would also like to encourage you to consult the guiding rules and principles included in
the section on Community Policies. Of special note is the Code of Conduct, which has been
updated to better reflect the mission, vision and values and is included here in an edited
version. This code, which binds us all together as a community along with our school values,
will be shared with students at different points in the year.
Given the importance of the information contained in this handbook, I would urge you to take
a moment to familiarize yourselves with its contents.
