To connect with the wider learning community as we innovate together to continuously improve TFS educational practices. To accomplish this we: - Partner with learning organizations and international schools to build and share knowledge; - Facilitate opportunities for the exchange of ideas, resources and expertise both locally and internationally; - Collaborate with research programs that support our commitment to neuroeducation, bilingual learning and academic excellence. LEARNING FORUM WEBSITE forum.tfs.ca STUDENT SERVICES Jardin d'éveil – Grade 5 Teachers employ a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of all students in an inclusive learning environment. Resource teachers support staff as they implement new strategies. As part of Student Services, our social skills consultant works with younger children, observing classes in action to develop specific strategies and social-emotional learning. The School-Based Support Team (SBST) includes the Principal, Vice-Principal(s), Guidance, Resource teachers with input from classroom teachers. The team meets regularly to review individual children's specific needs, based on advice from teachers. The child's needs are discussed and followed, when appropriate, by classroom observation and the implementation of an individualized learning plan; parents are involved throughout the process. In some cases testing is recommended and the school can provide some diagnostic assessments as well as pre-screening. If an external assessment is recommended, TFS helps parents by providing a list of specialists and their areas of expertise. West Campus – Grades 6 and 7 Guidance and Learning Strategies classes start in Grade 6 with a curriculum that includes social skills training, health and well-being and learning strategies, including organizational skills. A key emphasis at this level is to help students make the transition to the Senior School so that they can begin to become independent learners.
