Feeling the Rush Photography: Rob Waymen The momentum behind TFS' athletics is building What happens when you mix athletes' skill and drive with coaches' expertise and the school's commitment? For the TFS athletics program it led to 16 championships in 2011-2012, a year with just 38 for the taking. The 201213 year started strong as well, with five championships secured in fall, and 21 teams rising to the challenge for winter sports. For a school renowned for its strong academics, TFS is on a winning sports streak. While the changes have been gradual, the sheer number of wins by our teams has been encouraging. Entre Nous spoke with Athletic Director Steve Turner, who was happy to share his insights. "A lot of people have been noticing little changes over time, but they are adding up to great results," explains Mr. Turner. "Personally, I've seen a real surge in our athletes' competitiveness and in the pure energy they bring to the field and in the gym." Mr. Turner notes, "our school administrators have been real advocates for our programs, ensuring that athletes are supported as they balance training and games with their academic workload." entre nous 13
