Joint Message from the Chair and the President of the TFS Foundation Message commun du Président du conseil d'administration de la Fondation TFS et de la Présidente de la Fondation TFS YOU HAVE INSPIRED US TO LOOK FORWARD WITH OPTIMISM During the 2019-2020 academic year, the resilience of the TFS community was tested in ways the school had never before experienced in its history. Yet despite this, the community made history of another sort by raising a record-breaking $3,762,400 in support of TFS, a new milestone and the most ever contributed in a single year. Your wholehearted commitment, even in these challenging times, speaks to your dedication to TFS and its students, and for that we are profoundly grateful. We are proud of the many approaches our community took to stand united with TFS during the 2019-2020 school year. A parent-led initiative raised both funds and equipment to install water fill stations at the Junior School, a timely asset made even more significant in the current circumstances. Current parents, alumni and past TFS parents honoured the graduating class by donating to the Class of 2020 Fund in support of the school's bursary program, which helps relieve pressure from TFS families who are faced with unexpected financial constraints. With ongoing contributions to the TFS Entrance Scholarship Program, we were able to welcome a new Entrance Scholarship recipient this past September, bringing the total number of recipients in our community to seven. Your generosity funded a robust investment in IT – new whiteboards and projectors in classrooms at the West Campus, Junior School and Senior School. Funds also enhanced classroom technology for student projects in media, robotics and computing, allowing for even greater integration of technology into the classroom. We also received very generous gifts towards the vision of the campus master plan, which are helping to fund detailed plans and make investments in infrastructure that are critical to our overall long-term goals. We look forward to sharing plans as they are developed, including plans for the redevelopment of the Senior School cafeteria, La Terrasse. All this to say, you have inspired us to look forward with optimism. Your continued philanthropy supports the school in delivering a rigorous bilingual education, so that students develop academic ambition, gain an international perspective and grow into global citizens who contribute to the betterment of our world. We want to thank all of you, the members of the TFS Foundation and the school's Board of Directors and sub-committees, and the TFS Parents' Association and TFS Alumni Executive volunteers, for making such a positive difference.
