Since 2010, TFS has recognized the contributions of volunteers through the Volunteer of Distinction award, which each year celebrates a TFS community member who exemplifies volunteer service and leadership, lives our school's values, helps build our legacy and demonstrates inspirational leadership. Lisa Erry was unanimously chosen as the 2021 Volunteer of Distinction recipient and was presented her award last June by Head of School (Interim), Norman Gaudet, at our virtual Merci aux bénévoles event, honouring our volunteers. Lisa's daughter, Angélique, presented a video describing how inspired she was by her mom's volunteer history. In the words of the selection committee, Lisa Erry is the essence of an amazing volunteer and adds energy to any role or project she takes on, which results in exceptional events that students and families enjoy. She has served in over a dozen roles over 11 years at TFS, starting as what was then called a Jr Class Rep volunteer for the Parents' Association, which led to multiple THE ESSENCE OF AN AMAZING VOLUNTEER years of service as a Branch Representative. She co-chaired Carrousel des nations and Kermesse. She gives of herself and her time to all TFS events and activities with her full being. Lisa is a community builder who inspires and encourages others to become involved. She is described by the nominators as generous, dependable, tireless, understanding, supportive, and a positive force who makes great contributions, like moving the Marché d'hiver winter market online. Lisa's devotion to TFS is shown by the many hours that she volunteers and her willingness to help with large and small initiatives. Lisa's commendable traits include her selflessness, her l ve for the school and her ability to build connections with all members of the TFS community. She makes everyone feel welcome and inspires others to volunteer.
