The TFS Entrance Scholarship Program has welcomed eight students of promise to the TFS community since 2016. We are so proud that this vital program continues to grow through the generous support of our donor families and community. The scholarship can change the trajectory of students' lives and that of their families. TFS offers our entrance scholars a unique, enriched multilingual education with an international perspective that ignites academic ambition and empowers students to become engaged citizens who impact the world. For TFS students and teachers, the scholarship program creates a more inclusive community that welcomes different voices and life experiences. Jean-Bastien Urfels, Senior School Principal, asserts that the positive effect of the program is multi-faceted: "The scholarship program is a unique opportunity to put into practice the values that underpin our school. It offers mutual enrichment for both the student and the TFS community they are joining." Scholarship recipients participate in a rigorous and comprehensive application process, which includes providing evidence of their academic potential, community involvement, and a personal statement of interest. While financial need and academic merit are the basic criteria for applicants, qualities less easily measured are equally important. As they get to know each candidate better, the TFS Scholarship Committee seeks students who understand what TFS can offer them and demonstrate an aptitude for bilingualism, academic rigour, and an enthusiasm to engage in student life. This year we will proudly watch our first entrance scholar graduate set out on a journey of achievement and discovery, and it will be all thanks to the generosity of our community for enabling this transformation.
