TFS
Fashion Show Fundraiser:
Back on the TFS Runway
Two years have passed since our Senior School students were
last able to stage their annual – and wildly popular – fashion
show fundraiser. This year's show, Forever 21, embraced
environmental stewardship through clothing designed with
sustainable materials, all in support of Green Thumbs, a local
charity that promotes environmental education for children.
To develop the collection while raising awareness of the
unsustainable "fast fashion" industry, a pop-up thrift store was
created at the Senior School. Students brought in gently used
clothing in exchange for another piece available at the store.
The Home Energy
Audit Challenge
Challenge accepted! The West Campus' Grade
4s participated in GreenLearning's Home Energy
Audit and not only learned eye-opening facts
about their own homes, but also tied for first
place, winning the top prize of $1,500 for the
school. They have now implemented energy-
saving strategies to reduce their carbon footprint
at home, such as unplugging unnecessary
devices, taking shorter showers and adding
weather stripping to doors to reduce air leaks.
