ENTRE NOUS 16 Through the sum of human existence we have always had art. The profound need to express ourselves has been ever-present, depicting our inner thoughts and outer lives, often entangled together in a sketch, painting, composition or sculpture, reflecting our times, the troubles that we encounter collectively and alone, and our moments of joy. Art allows us to speak to each other without saying a word. The same is true for our students at TFS. From our youngest learners to our Level V IB artists, we are as captivated by their first self-portraits as their fifteenth, journeying with them through their visual declarations, commentary and interpretations, as they come to know themselves, each other and the world. THERE WILL ALWAYS BE ART BY MARYANN SHEMANSKY Artist: Nikki Z., Grade 3, Junior School
