Parents' Handbook 2022– 2023 3 TFS FOUNDATION TFS Foundation's mandate is to promote a culture of philanthropy within the TFS community and to raise funds to enhance the TFS experience for current and future students. TFS Foundation is a registered charity, led by a Board of Directors, separate from the TFS Board of Directors, and makes grants to school-wide strategic priorities identified by TFS leadership and approved by the TFS Board. TFS Foundation also provides official tax receipts, invests funds and stewards all donations. TFS Foundation's primary purpose is to raise money in support of projects that enrich our students' learning environment and the Foundation engages parents, past parents, alumni and staff to help carry out this work. Last year, TFS Foundation raised $4.47 million from over 700 donors to advance school priorities. Tuition fees allow the schools to cover its day-to-day operating expenses, and TFS Foundation's fundraising initiatives are essential to enrich the educational program, enhance facilities and provide life-changing student financial aid. TFS Foundation leads all TFS charitable fundraising initiatives, provides meaningful donor recognition, and hosts special events for the benefit of the entire TFS community. When you give to the TFS Foundation, you're providing access to a world of possibility, potential, and meaningful opportunities for today's and tomorrow's TFS students. Thank you for being our partners in ensuring our students' success. The Alumni of Distinction awards recognize outstanding alumni who have made significant contributions to their communities as individuals who reflect and citizens who act for the betterment of all. The TFSAA strives to keep alumni connected through events, communications and the alumni digital platform, TFS Connect (tfsconnect.ca). Alumni volunteers also play an important role in student
