Winter Concert Another highly anticipated event returning in person was our Senior School's annual Winter Concert. Students in the music program gave 300 of our friends, family and staff an exceptional show, featuring performances from the choir and the jazz, wind and string ensembles. The IB learner profile attributes, fostered at IB schools worldwide, encourage students to recognize their responsibility as global citizens. During the International Week of Pakistan held in November, our La p'tite école students learned about the devastating floods that took place in the country, and keeping in mind the attribute "knowledge," they took action to raise awareness of climate change. The JK students created a communal poster emphasizing the need to protect our ravine, while SK students brainstormed ideas on how we can all protect the planet. To share their ideas, they developed posters that were then put up throughout the building. Our Grade 1 students wrote their own action statements reflecting what they will try to do to protect the planet. Being knowledgeable not only involves learning new things, but also using this new information to then make a difference. ENTRE NOUS 10 LPE Takes Action The Senior School welcomed guest of honour Dr. Alis B. Kennedy to the stage for this year's Remembrance Day assembly, dedicated to the lesser-known heroes, namely Indigenous peoples and women. Students listened as she shared her personal experiences as a Métis Canadian in service to her country, in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1970 to 1983, and as an advocate for women's rights. Dr. Kennedy is the first woman and veteran to be named as Chair and President of the Board of Directors of the International Knightly Order of St. George Foundation.
