Vernissage TFS' First Tech Challenge After a short hiatus, TFS' talented Ontario and IB visual artists from Levels IV and V were finally able to host an in-person Vernissage. Artists spent one to two years working on their collections, drawing inspiration from their unique personal experiences, cultures and backgrounds. This journey of self discovery brought us a range of displays, from multi- dimensional sculptures to traditional paintings. Parents browsing through the collections felt immersed in the students' journeys, as they could observe the work up close, from all angles and even ask questions. This was the magic of experiencing art together. Following this successful show, the collections were left on display for La p'tite école and Junior School students, allowing them to discover art and gain inspiration through the lens of their older peers. This past summer our TFS Robotics Unicorns team competed in the first ever robotics competition held at the CNE – and made it all the way to the finals. After two days of coding, fanning the robot (it was hot!) and making adjustments, the team placed second overall. ENTRE NOUS 8 TFS Honey Bees TFS welcomes 16,500 new fuzzy friends on campus! For the very first time, an apiary was installed at TFS, as part of our increased efforts to raise awareness of sustainability issues and improve our own environment right here at the school. Over the first year of this new venture, Senior School students gained hands-on experience working with the bees, observing the harvesting of honey and harvesting honeycomb themselves, all during workshops, inspections and hive-related activities. Once the honey was harvested, jarred and labelled, using our students' design, it was then sold at Marché d'hiver!
