DESTINATION / DESTINATION ESSEC Business School PROGRAMME / PROGRAM Business Administration KASSANDRA L. Having participated in the Globe club during her Level IV and V years, on the cross country, soccer and hockey teams, as well as in the Dance and Fashion shows, Kassandra always strived to step outside of her comfort zone. Even with her strong focus on academics, Kassandra still never forgot to connect with the community around her. Her stints in the Dance and Fashion shows, where she worked on publicity, led her to discover the creative dynamics of what it takes to pull off a successful artistic production. Key to this was the unity she saw in her Level V cohort and the care they demonstrated for their collaborative journey, compared to any individual concern over grades. This inspired Kassandra to apply that mindset to her own studies, focusing on the long run with a good work ethic and a positive attitude. Wanting to push herself, sometimes in ways she at first never thought possible, Kassandra took Higher Level (HL) history, started her own cookie business (donating the proceeds to charity) and signed on for an economics course that completely shifted her post- secondary vision. But it wasn't until Kassandra met with some alumni at a career fair that she discovered the multitude of business career options and the diversity of the job market. Kassandra, with her adventurous spirit, is now attending ESSEC Business School in France, a country she had never visited before, but learned so much about while at TFS. She intends to keep widening her comfort zone, including through new activities such as rowing, rock climbing and learning new languages. At the same time, she hopes to stay in touch with her fellow Class of 2023 alumni in Europe. She is also looking to the future and the possibilities of breaking into the sustainability or private equity sectors. But her more immediate plans are to keep an eye on her program's summer internships to determine the path she will ultimately travel. TFS 11 Forging Paths of Their Own
