On May 29, 2024, TFS celebrated the launch of Société '62, a society established to recognize the service and contributions of senior leadership volunteers and ambassadors, including past board chairs, Parents' Association presidents, Alumni of Distinction, and Head Girl and Head Boy (now called First Citizens) across multiple decades, whose dedication has been essential to the success of the school and preserving our history. Inaugural members mixed, mingled and reminisced about the school's past and the ongoing bright promise of the school that has carried through yesterday, today and tomorrow. The society's three co-chairs – Diane Mandell, Kathleen Mackenzie and Nancy Cohen '78 – shared their experiences and cherished connection to TFS, while Head of School Norman Gaudet provided guests with an update on plans for the school's future. PARENTS AND VOLUNTEERS "In 1970, when our older daughter started Kindergarten, my husband Peter and I became TFS parents and volunteers. Here I am, 54 years later, still connected to the school and excited about being a volunteer," said Diane Mandell. She reminded guests that "originally, TFS students led a nomadic existence, moving from one facility to another. Then, after much anticipation, we stood proudly at the opening of Mildenhall. When we acquired the Ursuline property and Giles Hall, we saw more of our dreams come true. In the ensuing decades, many visions for the future became realities." A former president of the Parents' Association from 1982-1983, Diane highlighted that, although leadership volunteers make up the membership of Société '62 Co-Chairs Nancy Cohen '78, Diane Mandell and Kathleen Mackenzie Celebrating Exceptional Leaders and Volunteers By Ryan Churchill 66 ENTRE NOUS
