Your generosity is enhancing learning opportunities and the educational journey for this generation of students at TFS and the next. Paving a path to TFS In the 2023-2024 academic year, our community gave over $320,000 in support of Student Financial Aid, creating access for promising students who may not otherwise be able to attend TFS. As in years past, many families, staff members and alumni supported TFS with an annual gift this year and designated their donation to the TFS Annual Priorities Fund. In addition to other established funds, the Annual Priorities Fund empowers TFS to provide faculty with special grants for projects that directly enrich the student experience and strengthen our school. This year's funded initiatives included: Imagination Playground A playground equipment system for children at La p'tite école that transforms any space into a play space and encourages learning, social development, movement and fun! Child-directed and open-ended, kids can give life to animals, construct rocket ships and robots, make imaginary places like houses and factories, and dream up creative settings, scenes and games. Fitness Studio In response to a growing voice from students and staff for an improved workout space, and thanks to additional funding from a donor family in our community, we have now been able to convert what was previously the Dance Studio into a new multipurpose Fitness Studio. The space will provide students and staff alike with a place on campus to contribute to building the best – and healthiest – version of themselves. Health & Wellness • The acquisition of new 3D printers that enable experiential learning activities based on the MYP Design Cycle in dedicated design classes. • Investments in iPad technology and software that allow 3D design skill development, digital design and prototyping as students learn to use augmented reality applications to connect digital and physical ideation. • Purchase of tools, equipment, systems and software for the First Tech Challenge Robotics team to assemble and program their own robots, encapsulating every aspect of STEAM education, with a strong emphasis on engineering.
