tfs.ca Vizma Sprott (1945 - 2025) TFS mourns the loss of Vizma Sprott, who passed away on February 11, 2025, at the age of 79. A beloved wife to Eric, mother to Juliana and Larisa, and proud grandmother to Grayson, as well as to Delilah, Hudson, Vivienne and Beau—all TFS students—Vizma's connection to the school ran deep. A passionate supporter of education, reading and community, she played a hands-on role in shaping the West Campus library, creating a space that continues to inspire young learners— including her own grandchildren. As a founder of The Sprott Foundation, Vizma championed urgent causes across Canada, including hunger, homelessness and human dignity. She will be remembered at TFS for her generous spirit, her love of books and ideas and the legacy she leaves through both her philanthropy and her family. Sivabal (Siv) Sivaloganathan (1956 - 2025) TFS is mourning the loss of Siv Sivaloganathan, who passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025, at the age of 68. Siv was a devoted husband to Sumathi and father to Darshan '11, Myra '12, Arjun and Krishnan '17—all proud TFS students. He was also a deeply engaged member of the school community. Since 2003, he and his family have given back to TFS with generosity and heart, and were proud members of Le Cercle des Philanthropes. A respected professor of mathematics at the University of Waterloo, Siv was admired for his visionary thinking, commitment to mentorship and belief in the power of education to make a difference. His humility, warmth and quiet strength left a meaningful legacy at TFS and beyond. Bruce Westwood (1940 - 2025) TFS former parent Bruce Westwood passed away at home in Hockley Valley on February 28, 2025, surrounded by family. A devoted father to Ashton '88 and Whitney, a loving stepfather to Simon and husband to Kristine. Bruce was a passionate supporter of Canadian literature and the founder of Westwood Creative Artists. He served as Chair of the TFS Board of Directors from 1984 to 1986, was a proud Société '62 member, and was honoured with the TFS Volunteer of Distinction Award in 2013.
