THE START OF A NEW CHAPTER On April 3, 2025, our vision took a tangible step forward with the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Athletic Wing at the West Campus. Spirits were high as students, faculty, donors and friends of TFS gathered to mark the beginning of construction. "Many years ago I had the privilege of witnessing the birth of our current mini gym, which was an exciting space for the younger students to play, learn and explore," says Ulrik Bédos, the Vice-Principal (now Principal) of the West Campus. "Twenty-seven years later, our students have grown and so has our gym. We have now broken ground on a full athletic centre that will serve our students and the community for years to come." One of the most heartfelt moments at the ceremony involved guests, following the lead of students, writing personal messages on the walls of the mini gym that will soon be transformed into a regulation-sized facility. These messages—filled with memories and encouragement—will become a symbolic cornerstone of the new space, forever connecting past and present with the promise of what lies ahead. After remarks celebrating their generous philanthropic commitments to make the new Athletic Wing at West Campus a reality, the Kaneff family, the Bechara family, Wallace Wang and Lily Meng and their son Lester W. gathered for a group photo. They were joined by Head of School Norman Gaudet, City of Mississauga Councillor Stephen Dasko, TFS Board member and West Campus parent Rob Galaski, TFS Foundation Board Chair Sunny Lowe and TFS Foundation President Cathy Yanosik. 16 ENTRE NOUS
