PRIX DE DISTINCTION DES ANCIENS ÉLÈVES Martha Hall Findlay '77 STARTED IN: PRE-KINDERGARTEN A national leader in public policy and sustainability, Martha Hall Findlay is director of the School of Public Policy at the University of Calgary and holds the Palmer Chair in Public Policy. She previously served as Chief Sustainability and Chief Climate Officer at Suncor Energy and was president and CEO of the Canada West Foundation, one of Canada's leading think tanks. Earlier in her career, she was elected twice to the House of Commons, where she served in the Official Opposition Shadow Cabinet across several key portfolios, including International Trade; Finance; Transport, Infrastructure and Communities; and Public Works and Government Operations—and also served on the corresponding House of Commons committees. Also a corporate lawyer and international trade expert, Martha has held senior executive roles in both business and government, and currently serves on several boards and advisory councils, including Canada's Expert Group on Canada-U.S. Relations. She was named a Canadian Climate Champion in 2021, recognized as one of the top global female oil and gas executives, and awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal for her contributions to public life.
