Over the year, this scholarship student has been exposed to different opinions, views and perspectives that have shaped his experience and is part of the beauty of TFS. We've watched him make close friendships and participate in activities like trivia at the Student vs Teacher Jeopardy games. This year, he shone at the TedX event and shared a wonderfully engaging speech. — Teacher of a Grade 7 scholarship recipient (enrolled 2024) Over his time at TFS, this scholarship student has gone from a reserved student to a confident young man, ready to take the next steps in university. He often came to school early and stayed late, committing to getting his work done and being accountable for his deadlines. He sought support from teachers when needed and, in English, began contributing thoughtful interpretations of texts that would stretch the class discussion in different directions and encourage others to consider alternate perspectives. We've seen his confidence extend beyond the classroom as well, gaining more confidence in social interactions with peers and in his participation in the dance show! It was great to see him on stage with his peers, performing the dance moves he diligently learned. In the Work Hub, he emerged as a leader, guiding study sessions and collaborating with others on projects at the whiteboard.
