Toilet Training and Diapering Jardin d'éveil All staff members are asked to follow the diapering procedures set in place by Toronto Public Health. A diapering procedure poster is placed at each diapering area, near the change table; this is a visual guide to good diaper-changing techniques. Every child is different when it comes to toileting needs. A child needs to show signs of toilet readiness before the training process. This happens at very different ages. Please discuss your child's toilet training needs with your child's educator. For your child to have ongoing success, it is very important to work on a consistent routine between home and school to allow the toilet training period to be a comfortable transition for children and parents. Petite Section While we expect children to be toilet trained, we understand there might still be an occasional accident. We ask parents to leave a change of clothing at the school. The teacher, educator or our office staff will help your child get changed. Please speak to your child's teacher if you have more specific questions. TFS has developed many procedures and policies to ensure consistency of care. Here is a summary. Child Behaviour Management The emotional and physical well-being of children in care is a priority of TFS. Positive forms of behaviour management with emphasis on discussion, encouragement and positive reinforcement comply with the school's philosophy to promote the healthy development of children.
