Sometimes it takes the right setting with the right resources to let people feel comfortable enough to learn how to learn – and to soar. The new Learning Forum centres at TFS – at La p'tite école, the Junior School and the West Campus – and the soon-to-be-unveiled Learning Forum at the Senior School, bring together all of the elements to create ideal environments where students can learn together or individually, in specially designed and designated areas, including the much-requested silent zone at the Senior School. These learning hubs are places where students can seek support for obstacles to learning at any age and in any subject area, with help from learning strategists or guidance counsellors. They can conduct research and discover resource materials, whether in the digital classroom or through the school's curated library collection. Students can even delve into the school's storied past through its archives. LEARNING IN THE LEARNING IN THE RIGHT PLACE RIGHT PLACE ( S ) by by Maryann Shemansky Maryann Shemansky Says Dr. Susan Elliott, Executive Director of the Learning Forum, "it's deepening the connection students have to the space and its programs. Our foot traffic has increased significantly! Our teams work collaboratively, with a spirit of inquiry, and new ideas for better learning and teaching come from everywhere and everyone."
