DR. JOSEP GONZÁLEZ Chef d'établissement / Head of School As we were undertaking the substantial task of creating TFS' new Strategic Plan, a thought occurred to me about our beloved school: we always talk about what we do – we provide a bilingual education, focused on academics, in a coeducational environment – but we seldom talk about who we are. That is, what is the essence of TFS? This question was at the heart of our ultimate goal: to clarify the unique character of TFS, to define its timeless values, mission and vision, and to develop strategic pillars, the ways through which we live our mission and strive to reach our vision. Some of the approaches we take to empower our students in this endeavour were established long ago, intimately connected to the school's founding. Others are of a more recent vintage, constructed to deepen existing concepts and introduce new ones, such as academic ambition and citizenship. Already I am observing a Dr. Dr. Jo Josep sep Go Gonzá nzález lez ta talki lking ng wit with L h Leve evel I l III and Level IV students in hi h s office ffi . renewed and energized focus in our community's shared commitment to this educational journey. What better way to see our Strategic Plan's ideas come to life than on the pages of Entre Nous? You can read about academic ambition as viewed by students and staff in It's All About the Stretch (page 12), hear our First Citizens in the First Person (page 17) describe citizenship and, in Seeking (And Exploring) la Francophonie (page 21), learn about our expanding relationship with other French- speaking countries. I hope you enjoy these stories about TFS' new Strategic Plan. If you have others to share, I would be delighted to hear from you.
