2 Dear Community Members, We are proud to present to you the new strategic plan for TFS. It is not intended to bring with it a major course correction, but to deepen our thinking, focus our priorities, inspire us and communicate more clearly who we are and what we stand for. Over the last few years, we have gathered valuable input from staff, parents, students and alumni. It is this wide consultation, this multi- layered dialogue with the community, that has lent its title to our strategic plan: Engagement. The name is also meant to reflect our vision for students. As a bilingual, international school, we are in a unique position to empower our pupils to engage actively in society so that they can have a positive impact in their communities and beyond. TFS has a venerable history that has contributed to the shaping of today's Canada, and our strategic plan builds on these solid foundations. Many of its elements are timeless, including the mission, vision and values, given that these express our identity as a school. What will undoubtedly evolve, as time moves on, is how we live the different elements and translate them into practice. This plan represents our community's commitment to education as a means to equip our children with the necessary tools to improve the world we inhabit. It also gives each of us an opportunity to reflect on the role we need to play in guiding them in this pursuit, as they grow physically and mentally into promising young adults. We thank you for joining us in this noble endeavour. A vision for the future. DR. JOSEP L. GONZÁLEZ Head of School TFS – Canada's International School MITCH FRAZER Chair, Board of Directors TFS – Canada's International School
