2016 Volunteer of Distinction Sherry Evershed TFS is grateful to the many volunteers in our community who support our activities, help build school spirit and pride, and work in partnership with staff to advance the mission of TFS. The Volunteer of Distinction Award was established to pay tribute to those exceptional volunteers who have made a lasting impact on the school. This past June it was an honour to recognize our latest recipient, Sherry Evershed, who has been an active volunteer since enrolling her daughter Lauren in 2002. As Chair of Soaring Beyond: The Campaign for TFS, Sherry's passion and leadership helped the school raise $10.2 million to bring the campaign priorities to life for our students. Over the years Sherry has served as a member of both the Board of Directors and the Advancement Committee. She helped organize and support the Carrousel des nations events, the Voilà Gala in 2003, the 50th Anniversary Gala in 2013, and was Chair of the Les Vendanges event in 2007. Contributing more than just volunteer hours, her family has been generous annual and leadership donors, and has opened their home to the TFS community on numerous occasions for lunch and dinner gatherings. Her dedication, collaborative spirit and determination have ensured that every project she has worked on has been both successful and impactful for our students. We were honoured when she accepted the role of Campaign Chair for Soaring Beyond, and grateful for her generous leadership gifts to both the Entrance Scholarship and Learning Forum priorities. When Lauren graduated from TFS in 2014, Sherry continued to champion the campaign while also reaching out to parents to support the Class Fund. She remained committed to Soaring Beyond until the campaign closed at the end of June 2016. A true philanthropist, she motivates and inspires others to volunteer, donate and get involved in the TFS community. Sherry, we are truly grateful for everything you have contributed to support our students and our school. The Volunteer of Distinction Award pays tribute to those exceptional volunteers who have made a lasting impact on our school. Thank You! The Office of Advancement & Alumni Relations would like to thank the TFS volunteers who worked in partnership with the department during the 2015-2016 school year. The volunteers' leadership, commitment and efforts have contributed to our collective success.
