La p'tite école The Learning Forum at La p'tite école houses the school's library, group work spaces with interactive white boards and offices for one-on-one work with Learning Strategists. The Zen Room within the Learning Forum is a small space where great things happen. "The idea behind the Zen Room is that there is always room to learn, and this space provides us the opportunity to teach endlessly. The little ones are eager to learn new skills in a cozy environment that provides them with tools to fulfil that growth. The focus is on building social skills that emphasize mindfulness, friendship, and among others becoming community leaders. It's inspiring to see the effect that the space has had on our students; being able to walk through the halls at La p'tite école and have the kids ask me, "Can we come to the Zen Room again?" is always motivation to do more and expand the workshops we currently offer." Lielle Levy Social Skills Consultant, La p'tite école Junior School The digital studio is across the hall from the Learning Forum's library and is a special area in the Learning Forum for a whole class to learn about and use the latest technology and programming tools. "There is a constant hum of activity in the Digital Studio in the Junior School Learning Forum. Using the Scratch programming language, students are creating animated stories that complement and support the work they are doing in class. In addition to running a 3D printing club, the Digital Studio is also being used as a Makerspace, providing the students with access to creative technology tools and a collaborative work space to explore and create. Students use the space every day!" Carole Dejoannis Technology Integrator Specialist, Junior School 11 2015 – 2016 Report to Our Community
