Future Plans
WITH HER SIGHTS SET on a career in medicine,
Rachel received offers from University of Edinburgh and
University of Southampton, both in the UK, Royal College
of Surgeons in Ireland and University College, Dublin.
She has accepted the University of Edinburgh Medical
School's offer. The direct entry program appealed to
her and, having been born in the UK, Rachel was
eager to return to her roots. She was also drawn to its
rich history as well as its leading reputation for medical
research and innovation. Rachel is excited to see which
field of medicine will capture her interest, but for the
moment she is intrigued by neurology, immunology and
paediatrics. Her ultimate goal is to become a doctor
and have a direct impact on people's lives and well-being,
which may include joining Médecins Sans Frontières
one day or teaching medicine.
