Parents' Handbook 2020– 2021 15 Changes can be made through the Parent Portal or sent to the attention of: - La p'tite école: Carole Schaeffer, cschaeffer@tfs.ca - Junior School: Lise-Anne Jodouin, ljodouin@tfs.ca - West Campus: Pauline Boyer, pboyer@tfs.ca - Senior School: Gérard Ladiyou, gladiyou@tfs.ca If both parents leave the Metropolitan Toronto area, the school must be given written notification in advance, including who has been assigned responsibility for the child(ren). BRANCH WEBSITES Each branch has its own website to enhance teaching and learning and ensure that parents are better connected to the classroom. The website addresses by branch are: La p'tite école: pe.tfs.ca Junior School: jr.tfs.ca West Campus: west.tfs.ca Senior School: sr.tfs.ca Content includes: - An online calendar; - Consent and registration forms, via the Parent Portal; - Branch news; - School-wide news stories and photos; and - Library and key resources. The branch websites include a list of teachers for that particular branch. Primary Years classes up to Grade 5 have a corresponding web page, where you will find information about your child's class, homework and relevant links. We expect parents to visit the branch websites weekly, at minimum, in order to stay connected to school news and branch-specific information. OTHER BRANCH-LEVEL COMMUNICATIONS Weekly Principal Email Each branch Principal sends out a weekly Communiqué email specific to the activities of that branch. Courier envelopes are sent home when required by the Junior School and the West Campus. Please read all the material and return the signed envelopes the following day. PARENT INFORMATION SESSIONS Throughout the school year we hold several information meetings: - Orientation and Welcome Back days for students and parents before classes start; - Parent information evenings occur in September, October and January for the Toronto campus, and in September for the West Campus, during which teachers explain their programs and procedures; - Curriculum presentations by grade, especially at transition stages; - Parent-teacher interviews in late October to early December, and February to March, for all branches; - Student-led conferences at La p'tite école, the Junior School and West Campus in May; - University information evenings - University lunch and learn series for students (parents are welcome) - Principal's Breakfasts by branch; - Learning Cafés; - Overnight trip information evenings (mandatory for parents of participants). PRIVACY STATEMENT At TFS, we are committed to protecting the confidentiality of the personal information we collect. To maintain your trust, we must be responsible and accountable in how we treat the information that is shared with us. All personal information collected by TFS from prospective and current families and students, alumni and staff is stored in secure and confidential databases and files with strict access controls. Only authorized staff at our school has access to the databases. Personal information is used as appropriate by the school, the Parents' Association and the TFS
