The TFS Foundation is grateful to those families and alumni whose generous support has financed the following named scholarships and named scholarship funds: TFS scholarship recipients reflect on their past year at the school: Since 2016, TFS has welcomed seven exceptional young scholars to the school. Financial need and academic merit are the basic criteria for applicants. Those offered the opportunity to attend TFS demonstrate academic ambition and are curious, engaged and excited at the prospect of joining the TFS community. Their presence enhances the learning experience for all TFS students and enriches the diversity of our student body. For the recipients, a TFS education offers the opportunity to receive a rigorous bilingual education, gain an international perspective and develop the skills and knowledge to have an impact on the world. As of June 30, 2020, the TFS Foundation had received in excess of $2.57M in cash and pledges to support the TFS Entrance Scholarship Program. Grants to TFS from the TFS Foundation began in 2016, when the school welcomed the first scholarship recipient, and continues to grow each year. 2016/17 2018/19 2017/18 2019/20 250k 200k 150k 100k 50k 0 Grants to TFS from The TFS Foundation 1 2 4 6 Changing Lives and Building Community "The pandemic posed a new challenge halfway through the school year. I had never learned to use an online platform such as Google Meet, but TFS showed me that no hurdle is too high and helped me to overcome this challenge. The teachers always reassured me and my classmates that we would all overcome this together." "Next year, I plan to accomplish two goals. Academically, I'm aiming to achieve straight 8s in all subjects. My second goal is to volunteer more in order to serve the TFS community." "The way the teachers explain the material helped me enjoy and excel in learning. In math, I scored full marks and I enjoyed solving problems. I also helped students who found it difficult to understand the curriculum." "I really enjoyed the discussions that were held in mentorship and the ideas that were presented in classes and assemblies. I appreciated the willingness to hold discussions about important issues in society rather than ignore them, and I found that really helpful to my growth during the year." * * * * Bechara Family Scholarship Fund Chandaria Family Scholarship Datt-Abboud Family Scholarship General Scholarship Fund Hudson Family Scholarship Koeune Family Scholarship, 2017 Koeune Family Scholarship, 2020 Okwuosa Family Scholarship Reiss Family Scholarship Webb Family Scholarship TFS ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM 1 0
