Everyone, including staff, students, volunteers and parents are expected to comply with the program's policies and procedures stated above, all individual plans, and the requirements of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA). In the event that a staff member does not comply with the above, any of the following actions may be taken: 1. Performance Review– A performance review and monitoring and evaluation dictated by the nature and severity of the infraction. Alternatives will be recommended and reasonable support shall be offered to the employee to reach acceptable standards. Additional training may be required. 2. Immediate Written Warning - A specific written notification by the direct supervisor to an employee that their behaviour is unacceptable. 3. Further Action - When grave and/or repeated breaches occur, TFS' Human Resources department will discipline or discharge the employee according to the collective agreement. Review and sign off The Prohibited Practices policy will be reviewed prior to working with children for the first time and at least annually thereafter with each staff, student and volunteer. After reviewing the policy, each staff member and any volunteer will sign and date that they have read the policy and agree to follow it. Supervisors of the TFS child care centres will review the policy annually to ensure that it remains appropriate and up-to-date. Record Retention All records related to the review and sign-off of the prohibited practices, contravention measures, as well as the monitoring of compliance will be kept on file by the Supervisor for at least three years after the last date of the entry in the log. Supervision Policy TFS has developed this policy to help support the safety and well-being of children who attend Jardin d'éveil and PK. It provides direction regarding the supervision of volunteers and placement students. O. Reg. 262 under the Child Care Early Years Act (CCEYA) provides that every operator shall ensure that every child who is in attendance in a day nursery location is supervised by an adult at all times.
