Program Statement TFS – Canada's International School is a bilingual, coeducational and non-denominational independent school from Jardin d'éveil (age 2) to university entrance. TFS provides students with an outstanding educational experience - one that is unmatched in its rigorous and rich international and bilingual curriculum. TFS teaches a unique program of curricula: that of the Ministry of Education of Ontario, the Ministry of Education of France and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Organization. From the moment children join TFS they are instructed in French. Children quickly embrace the language and are gently encouraged to increase their use of French during classroom activities. Our Vision Our students are empowered to make an impact in the world. Our Mission The TFS community develops multilingual critical thinkers who celebrate difference, transcend borders and strive for the betterment of humankind. Our Values Integrity Discernment Respect Engagement TFS provides a safe and positive environment for the well-being of the children where they feel welcome and at home. Students learn by exploring through play, using their five senses, developing ways to express themselves and communicate socially with their peers as well as with adults. We encourage children to interact in a positive way and we support their ability to self-regulate. Parents and educators work as partners with a growth mindset to provide children with engaging, relevant, challenging and meaningful activities. We believe that children learn with their family, with their educators and from their environment. Our interactions are based on mutual respect, appreciation, attentive listening and participation. We believe that communication is key between the daycare and home and we have implemented many ways of communicating such as our Weekly Website and/or Communiqué, Newsletters, Tadpole, etc. The following principles infuse TFS pedagogy: positive experiences, partnership, respect for diversity, a challenging and engaging curriculum, emphasis on inquiry and curiosity, reflective and responsive practice. We ensure that our staff supports every child in developing their ability to initiate activities depending on their experience. TFS promotes the health and safety of the children. We encourage our students to wash their hands very regularly, before and after meals, snacks and special activities or whenever their hands get dirty. Our Sanitary Procedures and Policy ensures that all necessary precautions are taken into consideration to minimize the spread of germs. Staff follows set procedures, as per
