As Lucia said, "Tokyo is a family
affair." Qualifying for her first-
ever Olympics, Lucia credits
Gabriela for teaching her "that a
strong mind and a full heart are
enough to give you wings."
Running tough, she made it to the
semi-finals of the 1500 metres
with a time of 4:02.12, breaking
her personal best record. She
finished the Olympics in 13th
place, an incredible performance
for a first participation on the
biggest of stages.
This past February, she ran and
won at an indoor mile event,
with a time that was less than
a second off the meet record,
which had been set by her sister
a few years earlier. We can't wait
to see what she will do next.
