30 Parents' Handbook 2022– 2023 LA P'TITE ÉCOLE AND THE JUNIOR SCHOOL The hot lunch program for Jardin d'éveil and PK students is part of tuition and therefore provided at no additional charge. In addition to the hot lunch program, the Parents' Association offers pizza lunches approximately two Fridays per month. This fundraiser has tremendous annual participation and proceeds directly fund the Principal's Wish List. The cost for students who participate in pizza lunch is billed to the student account. For this coming school year, the plan is to start pizza days in January 2022. SENIOR SCHOOL Each menu cycle is reviewed and approved by a registered dietitian and encompasses the best balance of child-friendly nutritious meals. For the 2022-2023 school year, as of mid-October, all Grades and Levels will have access to La Terrasse to make menu selections during their respective lunch periods, though they may be instructed to eat their lunch elsewhere for health and safety purposes. La Terrasse, a full-service cafeteria managed by Chartwells Food Services, offers a variety of hot and cold healthy meal options including salads, premium deli sandwiches, Grill Works and World's Fare hot entrées. Purchases can be made through their TFS ID card and will be charged to your child's account. Parents can view and download their child's cafeteria purchases by month by logging onto the Parent Portal (Veracross) and viewing the Invoices tab in My Household. This information is only available during the current school year. In addition to the menu of hot lunch options, the Parents' Association offers pizza lunches approximately once per month. This fundraiser has tremendous annual participation and proceeds directly fund the Principal's Wish List. The cost for students who participate in pizza lunch is billed to the student account. LOCKERS JUNIOR SCHOOL Lockers are issued to students in Grades 2 to 5. They are not to be locked. WEST CAMPUS Lockers are available for Grade 2 to 7 students. From Grades 2 to 5, they are not to be locked. In Grades 6 and 7, students who provide their own locks must give the combination to the Branch Administrator, since the school must have access to all lockers in an emergency. SENIOR SCHOOL Lockers will be in use during the fall term. All locks will be provided by the school. Students will receive their locker assignment along with their combinations on the Welcome Back Day. LOST AND FOUND Please label your children's uniforms and other belongings. At the end of each term, unclaimed items are donated to a charity and unclaimed uniform items are given to the Parents' Association Used Uniform Sale. STUDENT ID CARDS (SENIOR SCHOOL ONLY) Replacement cards are issued at the Attendance Office upon request. Student's accounts will be charged $20 for a replacement card, once processed. Temporary cards are provided, but tracked and habitual requests for temporary cards will be subject to review.
