If you have any questions about the Learning Forum, please contact: Daniel Cohen, Executive Director of the Learning Forum 416-484-6980, ext. 4375 | dcohen@tfs.ca LIBRARY INFORMATION CENTRES All of the branch libraries have well-established and closely supervised collection development policies to ensure that a wide selection of appropriate print, nonprint and electronic material is available to each student. The central focus of the Library Information Centres is to instill a love of reading and lifelong learning. To access TFS' libraries, please visit forum.tfs.ca and choose the appropriate grade level. BORROWING BOOKS Students must use their student ID cards to borrow books from the library. LOAN PERIODS Print resources circulate for three weeks. DVDs/ magazines circulate for one week. Computers (iPads and MacPro laptops) are available for two-day loans. All materials in the circulating collection may be renewed unless requested by another borrower. All reference material is for library use only. OVERDUE AND LOST LIBRARY MATERIALS The fine for circulating collection material is 25 cents per day per overdue item. Borrowing privileges may be suspended if library materials are not returned when due and fines remain unpaid. In case of loss or damage to library materials, please notify the Librarian. Student accounts will be charged for lost or damaged books. LA P'TITE ÉCOLE (PK-GRADE 1) JK to Grade 1 students have the opportunity to choose a book to take home, on loan for a one-week period. JUNIOR SCHOOL (GRADES 2-5) Both students and parents alike can borrow from the Junior School library! The loan period is one week. Loans can be renewed if the book has not been requested by another student. Books can be returned or exchanged by students before or after school. WEST CAMPUS (PK-GRADE 7) Beginning in PK, students have the opportunity to choose a book or DVD to take home, on loan for a one-week period. Books can be returned or exchanged by students before or after school. PENTURN LIBRARY AT THE SENIOR SCHOOL The Penturn Library contains a dynamic bilingual collection, including non-fiction books, graphic novels and comics, DVDs, CDs and magazines. A wide selection of fiction titles is available in French and English, as well as in Spanish and Mandarin. Through the library homepage, students have access to online encyclopaedias and databases, newspapers, digital books as well as the library catalogue where books can be put on hold for scheduled pick up 24 hours later. Fines for lost or damaged books can also be reviewed on the Penturn Library website.
