As our Toronto campus is home to over 1,250 students ranging from those in Jardin d'éveil Hafez to Level V, we are always looking for more opportunities to foster social interactions between different age groups. Using the unique ecosystem of our school as the ideal environment for multi–grade level collaboration gives our students the responsibility to teach their peers what they have learned while allowing them the space to establish new relationships. Switching up the typical scenario of older students instructing younger ones, our Grade 5A and B Junior School students were asked to take what they had learned about insects in science class to teach their Level V peers. To make the experience more meaningful, the session was held in the ravine where the insects could be observed in their natural habitat. Our younger students developed their leadership and communications skills through discussions and by answering questions, while the older students learned something new about insects. That's what we call a win-win situation! Learning Across the Branches TFS 27 The 2022–23 school year proved to be an excellent one for athletic teamwork at the West Campus, with an outstanding 93% of eligible students participating in at least one sport. Many of these student-athletes made it all the way to the semi-finals and finals, notably the under 12 girls, who won an impressive three championships in three different sports. Of these was our Grade 5 and 6 floor hockey team, who won the tounament's title with their solid defence and offence. These Cougars know what it takes to be number one! Grade 5 and 6 Girls Take Over the Floor
