Sadie Riley started at TFS at just three years old. She became immersed early in a bilingual environment that would later shape both her career and her worldview. "At TFS, I found myself among students and teachers who were curious about the world beyond our immediate surroundings," she says. "This environment invigorated my desire to experience the world and work with people from across the globe." Nearly three decades later, Sadie now calls Paris home. She lives and works fluently in French—a skill she credits to her TFS education—in the social impact and sustainability space, focusing on the responsible sourcing of agricultural products. Her work takes her beyond Europe to Côte d'Ivoire, where she partners directly with farmers and local communities. The ability to connect across languages and cultures, says Sadie, has been key to building trust and driving meaningful progress. Robin Yeo is at the forefront of biotech innovation. A graduate of MIT (BSc) and Stanford (PhD), he most recently worked as a computational biologist and eventually as Head of Biological Data Science at Epicrispr Biotech in the Bay Area. One of his key projects there was contributing to the development of a novel gene editing therapeutic for FSHD, a rare form of muscular dystrophy. As part of his role, he also helped design the company's first clinical trial, which was approved by the FDA earlier this year, marking an exciting milestone in his career and for patients worldwide. "It's a really exciting time to be working in biotech, especially in the field of gene editing," says Robin. After several years in the US, Robin and his wife have relocated to Canada and are currently travelling and spending time abroad. Robin remains connected to the TFS community and is excited to see a growing interest in STEM among today's students. "TFS played a critical role in getting me started early on in biomedical research," he says. "It was actually volunteering at a TFS function that led to my first internship working in a molecular biology lab at the MaRS research centre." Robin is excited for his next chapter back in Canada, both in science and in life. Paris France San Francisco USA Sadie Riley '11 Robin Yeo '09 65 TFS
