JUNIOR SCHOOL Ambassadors of kindness WEST CAMPUS Dancing into global citizenship Through our PALs (Playground Activity Leaders) program, Junior School students embraced leadership while fostering joy and community among their peers. From the very first Welcome Day, they set the tone—greeting new students with kindness and making sure everyone felt at home both in and beyond the classroom. At recess, PALs were easy to spot in their vests and buttons, ready to organize equipment, encourage fair play and ensure every student felt included. They also dreamed up creative ways to spread kindness throughout the school: a compliment wall filled with uplifting messages, chains of compliments passed from student to student and even a random act of kindness initiative that brought smiles to the playground. As the year went on, the PALs eagerly took on extra responsibilities, making sure there were always enough helpers available to support classmates. With their enthusiasm and sense of responsibility, the PALs became true ambassadors of kindness. Just before March Break, students from our West Campus gathered for a special spring- themed assembly led by TFS parents and alumni Anna-Maria Kaneff '97 and Kristina Kaneff '99, who shared the rich traditions and celebrations of spring from around the world, and especially in Bulgaria. Through dance, stories and cultural insights they invited students to reflect on the season's themes of renewal, change and possibility—values that resonate beyond the calendar and influence how we approach life as engaged global citizens. The event was both a celebration of cultural diversity and a reminder of our shared connection to nature and each other. We are always grateful for opportunities such as this one which inspires our students to see the world through a broader lens, embracing new opportunities and global perspectives with curiosity and openness.
