Message from the TFS Alumni Association President Sal Patel '04 2015 was a banner year for TFS alumni. With the launch of our very own alumni microsite and the Alumni ID Card program, its now even easier to connect with friends and former classmates, carry our school pride with us everywhere and enjoy some additional benefits of being a TFS alum, thanks to our Perks Program. Our busy year also included our very first alumni chapter event in London, England and the annual alumni reunion dinner including the presentation of the Alumni of Distinction Awards/Le prix de distinction des anciens élèves. On June 5, 2015, we honoured the achievements of Leigh Salsberg '94 and Cara Cheung '06, the Young Alumni Award Recipient. In partnership with the Parents' Association, we sponsored two lectures featuring prominent alumni, Dr. Zia Lakdawalla '96 and Dr. Samantha Nutt '87. I think 2015 will be remembered as the year TFS alumni got involved and supported our school as never before. So I would like to salute all TFS alumni, because you are the best ambassadors our school could have. Over the past year, you have taken the time to speak with students and parents at campus visits and career lunches. You have volunteered, mentored and participated in events around the globe. Can we outdo ourselves in 2016? The new year promises to be equally exciting, with the launch of the school's Entrance Scholarship program being of particular interest to alumni. It's gratifying to know that TFS will be able to welcome its first scholarship recipient as early as September 2016, thanks to the generosity of Soaring Beyond campaign supporters. The program will need our continued support, however, to ensure that every year TFS will be able to welcome up to two recipients. 2016 is the last year of the campaign, so I would encourage fellow alumni to consider a gift to the Entrance Scholarship program. We know the true value of a TFS education! Over the coming months, your TFSAA will continue to grow alumni engagement and participation in reunion and social activities, and expand the range of discounts available through the Alumni Perks Program. I hope you will take note of some special dates, such as a gathering in downtown Toronto in April, Kermesse on June 4 and the Alumni Reunion Dinner on June 10, when we will celebrate two more extraordinary TFS alumni, the return of our London chapter event and our Toronto Holiday Party in December. I look forward to hearing from you, so keep in touch, stay connected and have an amazing 2016. 2014 – 2015 Report to Our Community | 13 Visit our Alumni Microsite at alumni.tfs.ca
