● Involve your child preparing for school; include your child in the preparations such as shopping together for school items such as a backpack; discuss key events with your child. All educators and teachers use French as much as possible through songs, pictures, games, etc. We understand the development of children and we will be using English whenever needed to reassure or console your child or for safety reasons, unless your child speaks French. Orientation Days - Please note that for 2021-2022, due to the ongoing pandemic, parents are asked to refer to the principals' communiqué for accurate information. Jardin d'éveil and Petite Section PK (Toronto) To help your child become comfortable in this new environment, we recommend that you introduce him/her to the setting for a short period of time. - You will be invited to spend a short period of time on Orientation Day with your child to allow him/her to discover this new environment with you present. Due to the pandemic, the time will be limited to allow us to disinfect the rooms between family visits. Petite Section – PK (West Campus) We will send you an email a couple of days before Orientation Day, which will include the name of your child's teacher and the location of the classroom. Due to the ongoing pandemic, we are revising the format of the orientation day; this information will be communicated in a principal's email. Safe Arrivals and Departures Please note that for 2021-2022, due to the ongoing pandemic, parents are asked to refer to the principals' weekly communiqué for up-to-date and accurate information. Refer to the Screening Procedure document for Safe Arrivals and Departures, due to COVID-19: Screening Procedure. Jardin d'éveil and Petite Section /Pré-kindergarten (Toronto) All children will be welcomed outside of the school building by staff members. After being screened, your child's arrival will be recorded and they will be accompanied safely to their room/classroom. Parents will not be allowed to enter the building due to the ongoing pandemic.
