Unscheduled School Closures TFS remains open at all scheduled times, barring a general power failure or other condition that would make it unsafe to operate. If you suspect the school may be closed, e.g. for extreme weather, please first visit your branch website, or call the school to pick up a general message. Emergency messages will also be posted on the branch websites or sent via email, when available and appropriate. Please remember that separation anxiety is a perfectly normal stage of development and every child may experience it to a different degree or in a different way. We have a wonderful team of educators and teachers who are trained and prepared to help. You can leave your child with us confident that we will take care of him/her. Staff will reassure and comfort your child, help your child to identify his/her emotions and feelings, and support him/her during the separation process. You will be contacted if your child is extremely sad. Feel free to call us to receive a verbal progress report on how your child is doing during the day (Toronto: 416-484-6533 ext. 4305/West Campus: 905-278-7243). How can I help my child adjust to the new environment? ● Establish daily routines. ● Make sure your child gets a good night's sleep. ● Make sure that your child eats a healthy breakfast. ● Maintain a positive attitude. Some parents pass their concerns onto their children. If your child doesn't already speak French, assure them that it's ok to speak English at school - they are here to learn.
