TFS 9 Le Stage Internship A Duke of Edinburgh Gold Rush! We are thrilled to announce two new names to be added to the roster of TFS Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award recipients, Liam D'S. and Lauren K., both in Level V. They will be joining last spring's recipient Kira R., Class of 2022. Earning the highest award of this world-renowned program opens up many opportunities, in addition to the self-development and growth garnered from the determination and commitment to its pursuit. Le Stage Career Internship Program offers our Level III students learning beyond the classroom. In this new pilot project, which launched in the summer of 2022, students were matched with volunteer mentors for a three- to five-day real-life work experience in an industry of their interest. Applicants were asked to submit a cover letter, resume and undergo an interview with the University Counselling team in order to be considered. With over 20 applicants, 12 were matched to eight mentors, either a TFS grad or current parent, from varied industries such as veterinary medicine, law, finance, public service and film. The feedback received about the program was unanimous: all of the students agreed that they would recommend the experience to their peers, and mentors welcomed the opportunity to connect with current TFS students. Career preparedness programs offer our students invaluable opportunities for learning and development. As we grow the program, we hope to expand our pool of volunteer mentors to allow for a broader base of careers represented. Dedicated to the 90 years of diplomatic relations between France and Canada, Amicitia France-Canada held the inaugural unveiling of their national monument at the Beechwood National Cemetery in Ottawa in October. TFS' Senior Wind ensemble gave special performances throughout the ceremony, as the honorary solo music group to perform that day. It was a historic moment for our community to be a part of. Amicitia
